Why are women getting fewer firsts in the humanities? | Varsity

I co-wrote this investigation alongside Famke Veenstra-Ashmore, where we investigated why women studying humanities subjects at the University of Cambridge were less likely to achieve firsts than their male counterparts.

I compiled data from the results breakdown in History, English and Modern and Medieval Languages across the past 5 years, and created graphs using Flourish.

We found that the move to online assessments after the pandemic increased the attainment gap in some subjects (English), while the gap narrowed in other subjects (History and MML).
